Principal Group Engineering Manager

About

Hi, I’m Imran Siddique, a Principal Group Engineering Manager and Engineering Leader at Microsoft in the Bellevue/Redmond area (Washington, US). With over 15 years at Microsoft, I’ve contributed to shaping Azure’s evolution—scaling massive distributed systems, petabyte-scale data infrastructure, and cloud-native search/architecture (including Azure DevOps).

Today, my work and thought leadership center on agentic AI: designing production-grade autonomous agents, control planes, self-evolving systems, context engineering, memory-as-action architectures, and governance for reliable AI. I advocate ‘Scale by Subtraction’—a philosophy of achieving more through intelligent simplification, deletion, constraint engineering, and frugal innovation rather than accumulation.

I’m passionate about practical, resilient engineering that turns complex AI challenges into elegant, maintainable solutions. I share insights on Dev.to (@mosiddi), Medium (@isiddique), LinkedIn, and X (@mosiddi), including series on Agentic Architect, Self-Evolving Agents, and AI safety/governance.

Open to connecting on meaningful collaborations, discussions in AI architecture, cloud systems, and engineering leadership. Let’s build the future—intelligently.
