I lead the Machine Intelligence research theme at Microsoft Research in Cambridge (UK) and I develop novel algorithms and models for artificial intelligence and machine learning applications.
My current research interest is in the following areas:
- Probabilistic deep learning;
- Applications of deep learning;
In terms of methodology I am interested in structured prediction, deep learning, Monte Carlo methods, decision theory, and Bayesian methods.
My work has found industrial applications in computer vision, cloud-based machine learning, gesture recognition, statistical image processing, numerical optimization, storage systems, and in time-of-flight imaging.
