Stephen Heil is a Principal Program Manager in the Artificial Intelligence and Research (AI+R) Silicon Systems Futures Group in Microsoft Research. In recent years, his focus has been on the development of Project Catapult’s FPGA-based custom programmable hardware accelerators for use in Microsoft cloud datacenters. His interests include field programmable gate arrays, application accelerators, and rack-scale system design. He has been involved in various aspects of computer system design and standards while working at Microsoft, Compaq, Panasonic and Unisys. Stephen has BS in Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Science from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College).
