I am a Machine Learning Researcher in the Optics for the Cloud group at Microsoft Research Cambridge. I am currently working on Project Silica, where we develop a new technology for long-term data storage in glass. We use machine learning to better understand the physics, as well as improving the overall performance of the system.
I graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a masters in artificial intelligence, and a final research project on uncertainty estimation and visual understanding. Apart from my studies I worked on various startups, including: anomaly detection in user behavior for an electronic health record company, recommendation system for a clothing brand, and statistical models for energy profiling in large industry factories.
