I am a principal researcher in the Database group at Microsoft Research. My research interests are generally in the area of data management and big data analytics systems. I am interested in creating novel technologies for Cloud applications. In particular, I led the creation of Mison, an ultra fast parser for data analytics on raw data. Mison has been commercialized and widely used at Microsoft, such as in Azure Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Cosmos, SQL Server, and so on. Before joining Microsoft Research, I received my Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the database systems group at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
