We are currently pursuing three research projects:
- Technology for Religious Empowerment (opens in new tab): Our latest project focuses on a crucial type of community not often studied by technologists, those organized around religion. We aim empower religious communities to achieve more and to collaborate to shape the future of advanced digital technology.
- Prosocial Media (opens in new tab): Building on the momentum of the “Community Notes wave” we have proposed a way to translate these insights (opens in new tab) into a broader redesign of the social media interaction experience, the recommender systems and business model. We are developing a prototype (opens in new tab) with an open-source collaboration, which in turn is being piloted on several diverse platforms.
- Civic engagement: As PTs are increasingly adopted by governments, political parties and civil actors, we are providing on-going design input and participating in a range of experiments, evaluations and designs to help the field mature and advance the industry and Microsoft’s mission of empowering every individual and organization to achieve more.
