Carl Brander is a master’s student in Robotics at ETH Zurich, where he focuses on computer vision and robot learning. His research interests include egocentric computing with event cameras, perception for autonomous systems, edge computing on nano UAVs, and Vision Language Action models (VLAs) for embodied AI, with a particular focus on mobile grasping.
From July 2025 to February 2026, Carl is conducting his master’s thesis at the Microsoft Spatial AI Lab, developing novel simulation-based methods to advance the performance of mobile, bimanual grasping robots.
