About
Emerson is a researcher in the PROSE group at Microsoft. His research spans human-computer interaction and software engineering, and has been awarded six ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards, an NSF CAREER Award, a VL/HCC Best Paper Award, and a Microsoft Software Engineering Innovation Foundation award.
Emerson is currently co-Program Chair for Visual Languages and Human Centric Computing 2025 (opens in new tab), Associate Editor of Empirical Software Engineering (opens in new tab), on the program committee for the International Conference on Software Engineering and Foundations of Software Engineering 2025 (opens in new tab) and 2026 (opens in new tab), and on the SIGSOFT Executive Committee (opens in new tab).
