Erik Uri is a software engineer with interests focusing on Artificial Intelligence and previously AR/VR.

In AI, Erik has contributed to latencies and reliability for inferencing on Azure OpenAI Service (opens in new tab) under AI Platforms in the CoreAI – Platform and Tools (opens in new tab) organization, as well as on Microsoft MAIA AI Accelerators (opens in new tab) in AI Frameworks.

In Augmented Reality, Erik helped build Azure Spatial Anchors (opens in new tab); an integral service for the HoloLens 2 (opens in new tab) allowing collaborative multiuser AR experiences through real-time spatial mapping and environmental understanding as part of the Environmental Understanding team in the Cognition (opens in new tab) organization.

Erik is also a contributor to open source in the Virtual Reality space, such as OpenXR Toolkit and OpenComposite, with work focused on eye tracking and foveated rendering.

Erik attended the University of Washington, focusing on Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing.
