Heyo everyone,

I am Ritam Dutt, a member of Outlook’s Applied Science Team. My research journey began at a Microsoft Research Workshop in India, 2017, and it feels surreal to see it come round full circle.

My work focuses on improving and understanding personalization through the lens of knowledge acquisition, evaluation, and responsible AI. My doctoral thesis from the Language Technologies Institute  (opens in new tab)at Carnegie Mellon University was focused on improving the generalization and robustness of NLP systems, with applications in question answering, information extraction, discourse analysis, and social understanding. I am passionate about using AI and NLP for bettering the lives of others.

Beyond work, I am an avid fan of Science Fiction and Fantasy genres and thoroughly enjoy board games, including D&D.  I am excited about exploring new things, especially cuisines, cafes, and hiking trails in no particular order.
