About
I am a Senior Applied Scientist in the Office of Applied Research (OAR). My work spans NLP, Information Retrieval, and HCI and has been published in venues such as EMNLP, NAACL, ACL, NeurIPS, SIGIR, RecSys, and CHIIR. I’m interested in developing models which are personalized to users or groups of users and while also enabling users to have agency over models. Currently, I am interested in LLM post-training from “in-the-wild” interactions and building LLM systems for knowledge work. I received my Ph.D. in May 2024 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst co-advised by Andrew McCallum (opens in new tab) and Hamed Zamani (opens in new tab). I spent a year as a postdoc at OAR and have interned at Microsoft Research, Allen Institute of AI, and IBM research.
