About

I am a Principal Research Engineer Manager in Microsoft’s CoreAI Developer Division, where I focus on post-training (SFT + RL) of code models to pioneer the future of AI coding.

Selected Contributions

2025 – Present: Creator of xTAB (opens in new tab), a unified model utilizing post-training (SFT + RL) for both next edit suggestions (NES (opens in new tab)) and code completion powering GitHub Copilot, serving millions of developers.

2023 – 2024: Incubated Azure OpenAI on Your Data (opens in new tab) at Azure AI and drove it to General Availability within one year. This enterprise-grade service enables tens of thousands of customers to securely ground AI on their own data and was featured in Satya Nadella’s (opens in new tab) and Scott Guthrie’s (opens in new tab) keynotes at Build 2023.

2021 – 2022: Spearheaded the development of GPT-powered NL2Code technologies, deploying them across Power Apps (Ideas) (opens in new tab), Power BI (Quick Measures using Natural Language) (opens in new tab), and Power Automate (Flows using Natural Language) (opens in new tab), empowering hundreds of thousands of business users globally. Notably, Power Apps (Ideas) became Microsoft’s first product feature (opens in new tab) powered by GPT-3 (fine-tuned with LoRA) in 2021, setting a precedent for commercial generative AI. These innovations were featured in Satya Nadella’s keynotes at Build 2021 (opens in new tab) and Ignite 2022 (opens in new tab).
