Machines Learning Human Minds

  • Michal Kosinski | Cambridge University

People evolved to excel at quick and reliable predictions of others’ emotions and motivations – skills crucial for personal success and safety in the social environment. Machines, however, while serving an increasingly important role in human lives, are virtually deprived of the ability to read human minds, which greatly reduces their success while advising, selling to, or otherwise interacting with humans. This presentation presents an attempt to enhancing machines’ ability of reading human minds and its utility in predicting people’s behaviour and preferences.
