ResearchNext: Data-driven discovery and the Cloud
- Kenji Takeda
We live in an information society, with cloud computing changing the way we live, work and play in a world of devices and services. In this talk we’ll explore what, why and how this new era of computing is changing the way we think about conceiving, developing and carrying out research and development across disciplines. We’ll look at how cloud computing is helping us rise above the data deluge in science, and the opportunities it presents for the future. We’ll describe several projects in flood, water and resource management from our Azure for Research programme, which currently supports over 300 projects worldwide – http://www.azure4research.com
