Madeleine I. G. Daepp is a senior researcher on the Urban Innovation team at Microsoft Research. Madeleine’s research focuses on the collaborative use of novel data sources and technologies to promote health equity and foster climate adaptation in cities. This includes working with public health nutritionists to capture and quantify Vancouver children’s food advertising exposures; collaborating with residents of nine Boston neighborhoods in using consumer credit data to visualize common pathways of displacement; and, at MSR, deploying a network of over 100 low-cost sensors to evaluate air quality across Chicago. Madeleine holds a PhD in urban planning from MIT and a MSc from the University of British Columbia.
