About

I am a Senior Researcher in Machine Intelligence at Microsoft Research (opens in new tab) based in Cambridge (UK). My current research focuses on principled approaches to understanding and advancing reliable reasoning in generative AI, drawing from reinforcement learning, causal inference and neuro-symbolic frameworks.

I am also deeply interested in machine learning for healthcare. Past projects within MSR include:

  • Project Talia investigating how machine learning models can be used to improve the quality of care in online psychotherapy programs (specifically CBT),
  • Microsoft Immunomics modelling and interpreting immune repertoire sequencing data to support the diagnosis of infections, cancers, and autoimmune diseases.

Prior to joining Microsoft, I completed my PhD in the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University, where my thesis focused on sequential decision-making in critical care settings. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Engineering (BA, MEng) at the University of Cambridge.
