About

I am an Applied Researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Lugano, under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Pedone. I am interested in many aspects of cloud computing and large scale distributed systems. In the past I have worked on reliability, fault tolerance, and resource efficiency of cloud services. With a focus on Paxos algorithm, I have built scalable high-performance and reliable systems. A subset of these works (Ring Paxos and Multi-Ring Paxos) are made publicly available as open source projects. I am moreover, interested in analyzing the operational data to gain insights for optimizing performance and resource usage of large scale distributed systems.
