As a Partner Research Manager and member of the Leadership Team at Microsoft Research AI Frontiers (opens in new tab), I lead interdisciplinary teams of researchers and engineers driving innovation in AI through advances in human-AI collaboration and agentic platforms. My role includes leading the Human-AI eXperiences (HAX) team (opens in new tab), working to harness the capabilities of people and AI-based agents and systems to solve real-world problems.
In addition, I co-chair Microsoft’s Aether Working Group on Human-AI Interaction and Collaboration. Aether is Microsoft’s advisory committee on responsible and ethical AI practices.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Washington’s Paul G. Allen School (opens in new tab) and an MSc in Computer Science and a BSc in Computer Science & Mathematics from the University of British Columbia (opens in new tab).
