Sean Rintel is a human-computer interaction researcher, exploring distributed team collaboration and AI workflows as a Senior Principal Research Manager at Microsoft Research. He currently co-leads the Tools for Thought team, which aims to augment human cognition in AI systems for team collaboration. He has previously investigated remote and hybrid meetings, and broader trends in the technology and communication. He is an advocate for hackathons to accelerate research and product development, and has participated in six global Microsoft hackathon winning projects. He is an active author, reviewer, and editor in academic communities, and a collaborator on external academic projects.
