About
Dr. Weiqing Liu is a Principal Research Manager at MSRA and leads the lab’s Industry Innovation Center (MIIC). Before overseeing MSRA’s full portfolio of industry collaborations, he headed a research team dedicated to AI for Finance. His group has driven major industry partnerships, contributed to open‑source initiatives such as Qlib (opens in new tab) , and published extensively in top-tier conferences. His current research interests include R&D-Agent (opens in new tab) for expert-level automating R&D process and MarS (opens in new tab), a comprehensive financial market simulation framework based on the Large Market Model, a foundation model trained on financial markets data from scratch. Dr. Liu holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from USTC (2011, 2016) and joined MSRA after graduation.
