Can more than one person play on a computer?

The currently released Eyes First games are meant to be played by one person at a time, however more than one person can play on the same PC. It is recommended that each player calibrate the eye tracker before use, especially if they are playing on the PC for the first time. If you want to record your own high scores, we recommend you have different logins to the PC for each individual player.

What’s the difference between Eyes First games and eye control?

Eyes First games are designed first and foremost for people to play the games with their eyes and using a Windows compatible eye tracking device. The games are Eyes First but not eyes only, meaning they can be played using mouse or touch as well. Eye control, an accessibility feature in Windows 10, offers eye tracking technology for users to control their mouse pointer, type using an on-screen keyboard, and communicate with people using text-to-speech. You can play the Eyes First games, with or without Windows 10 Eye Control.

Do I need Windows 10 Eye Control to use Eyes First games?

The Eyes First games are powered by Windows 10 eye tracking APIs and can be played with or without Windows 10 Eye Control. You can play the games using a mouse or touchscreen as well.

Do I need to calibrate my eyes each time I play the Eyes First games?

It is not necessary, but we recommend it for the optimal experience if you are playing games in a different environment, especially when lighting conditions change. Depending on your eye tracking device, eye control may not work well in locations with a lot of sunlight.

Does my eye tracker work if I am wearing glasses?

Yes, although you may want to be aware of any glare from lighting hitting the glasses. Glasses with anti-reflective coatings may have less glare and may work better with some eye trackers in some conditions.

What is the best place to position my eye tracker?

Please see the installation and setup instructions for your specific eye tracker on the best placement of your device. In general, most display mount eye tracking devices are designed to be mounted centered along the bottom edge of your display low enough not to obstruct the screen. It is also usually recommended that you are sitting about 2 or 3 feet back from the display in a position where your eyes are ideally level at about the center of the screen vertically.

In what markets are the Eyes First games available?

Originally released in English in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, the Eyes First games are now available in the English version in more than 200 markets. You can find the games in the Microsoft Store for Windows. We will continue to work on market expansion, and are planning to release to other countries and regions in future waves.

Will I be able to play these games outdoors?

Screen glare caused by direct sunlight may impede the ability of the eye-tracker to effectively track your eyes. So, for the best experience we recommend playing these games indoors and away from direct sunlight.
