Speaker Details
Brian Roark received his Ph.D. in 2001 from Brown University, under the supervision of Mark Johnson. He then spent three years in the Speech Algorithms department at AT&T Labs – Research, and is now a faculty member in the Center for Spoken Language Understanding (CSLU) and department of Computer Science & Engineering at the OGI School of Science & Engineering at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. His primary research interests
are: incremental parsing of text and speech; language modeling for automatic speech recognition; and supervised and unsupervised learning of language and parsing models.
