Stochastic simulation of gene regulatory networks

  • Ralf Blossey | CNRS, Interdisciplinary Research Institute, Lille

I discuss stochastic simulation of the dynamics of biological networks, in particular those involved in gene regulation. This research field needs an interdisciplinary approach, combining methods originating in biology, computer science, and physics. I illustrate this view by describing the general challenges the field faces, and by specific examples concerning the dynamics of switches involved in the regulation of transcription.
