Portrait of Rupert Freeman

Rupert Freeman

Before joining MSR, Rupert was a Ph.D. student at Duke University, advised by Vince Conitzer. He works on topics at the intersection of computer science and economics, including social choice, fair division, and prediction mechanisms. His work focuses on designing algorithms that trade off economic efficiency with other desiderata like fairness considerations and resistance to strategic agents. During his Ph.D., Rupert was twice an intern at the MSR-NYC lab and the recipient of a Facebook Fellowship.
