I am a Vice President of Applied Science at Microsoft. I lead the applied science organization for OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP), part of the Experiences and Devices division.
Until recently, I was Partner Research Director and Deputy Lab Director at Microsoft Research in Redmond, leading research groups working on multi-agent systems (AutoGen (opens in new tab)), the creation of world and human action models for gameplay ideation (WHAM (opens in new tab), Nature article (opens in new tab)), and the move from search engines toward action engines (Computer article (opens in new tab)) are examples of work that has happened recently in LEAP.
I am also an Affiliate Full Professor at the University of Washington (opens in new tab). I led applied science for Cortana and I was chief scientist at Microsoft Health. I have shipped research in many Microsoft products, including Bing, Xbox, Internet Explorer, Skype, Dynamics, Health, Windows, Cortana, Office (Outlook, Teams, Planner, To Do, Word), and Azure.
